Abstract: With the development of the social economy, e-commerce, as a new model of commodity trading based on the Internet, has gradually sprung up and prospered, which has an invaluable impact on the prospect of the regional economy. Therefore, the study of the impact and role of e-commerce development on the regional economy is conducive to society to reasonably guide the development of e-commerce. This paper discusses the differences in the development of e-commerce in various regions, the factors affecting the development of e-commerce, and its role in promoting regional economic development. This study reveals the influencing factors and functions of e-commerce development on the regional economy and analyzes the impact of e-commerce on regional economic development. The influencing factors include the transaction channel, transaction scale, and business growth of ecommerce. The research shows that under the background of the Internet, transaction channels and transaction scale have a positive impact on regional economic growth. At the same time, e-commerce also promotes the development of transaction platforms and industries. This study aims to provide useful references and suggestions for regional economic development and study the impact and role of e-commerce on the regional economy under the background of the Internet.
