Freshmen orientation is one of the best ways for a library to build relationships with students. However, it also faces challenges while the new students struggle with overloaded information, cultural shock, identity seeking and adaptation. NYU Shanghai Library took the opportunity to support new students to overcome the challenges. With an innovative workshop in the format of escape room activities, the Library engaged students with a welcoming impression on them, helped them learned the basic services and resources available in the Library, as well as cultivated teamwork and leadership in student development. This presentation will share the preparation of this experimental library workshop, its effectiveness and some lessons we learned.en_US
